FLY FISHING 101 Course

We are happy to announce our FREE fly fishing course being offered through our shop. It’s called FLY FISHING 101 and covers all the basics of fly fishing.

This is the same course I designed and used while teaching classes as part of the Sandhills Community College as an accredited course for their physical education program.

Perfect for the beginner and useful for those who just need a brush up. The classes will be held at the shop on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7:30. Registration is appreciated so we know about how many folks will be here so that we can accommodate our guests.

The classes are as follows:

What is fly fishing? (basic introduction and brief history)

The fly rod: (basic designs, materials and functions)

Fly Reels: (basic designs, types and functions)

Leaders, lines and tippets

Artificial flies: (basic patterns, types and uses)

Trout: (species, native vs wild, habitat)
